Athens-Clarke County Economic Development has assembled this collection of community resources to connect employers, employees, job seekers, and workforce partners with organizations and services that support workforce participation throughout Athens-Clarke County.
Whether you’re looking for workforce training, public transit options, childcare resources, employment services, or other community supports, this page is designed to help you quickly find the information you need. By bringing these resources together in one place, we aim to strengthen connections across our community and support a thriving, resilient workforce for Athens, Georgia.
Athens Works: Pathways Through Partnership
Childcare Programs, Food Banks, Clothing Closets & Healthcare Resources (By County)
Transit:
- Mystop Website and App: Real-time bus tracking (shows routes, trip planning, stops nearest to you, delays, detours)
- ACC Transit site: System map, route brochures, PDF of schedules, projects and surveys
- The Lift: curb-to-curb transportation anywhere within one mile of an Athens Transit fixed bus route for people with a mobility impairment that prevents them from using the regular bus service. There is an application process for this service.
- Bike parking: bike racks are at several stops and bike lockers are at the MTC. Manual bikes can be loaded at the front of the bus, and smaller mobility devices can go on the bus.
Additional transit resources:
- UGA Campus Transit: Fare-free transfers and riding between our systems. They have their own app called UGA.
- Regional Transportation: Flix Bus connects many major southeastern cities together and has several trips a day in Athens and picks up at MTC. Riders would have to purchase from Flix Bus to ride.
- Park and Ride Lot: ACC has a free park and ride lot at Oconee Street for riders to jump on the bus. There are also EV chargers there and a connection to the greenway. People cannot leave their vehicles overnight.
- Multi-modal and community connectivity: many routes stop at ACC parks, schools, community centers, resource centers, and the greenway!
